Kinda Bummed

Saturday marked the start of week 4 of my husband being gone.  We did get to see him this weekend, Sunday was "Family Day" on post.  I took the girls up and we got to hang out with him at the picnic.  We had a good time.  He got to come home last night but left at 3 am this morning for Kansas for a week.  And then he comes home for a week and leaves for Texas for a week.  Boo!
He will be home for the month of September and then he starts Active Duty in October to deploy in January.  Things are starting to "get real."  I am going to be on my own for over a year!

Now don't get me wrong, I have an amazing family and they are always willing to help me out, but I miss my husband.  He is going to miss so much.  Holidays, birthdays, the girls growing up.  The only thing that makes this bearable is how proud I am of him.
I don't have the guts to defend our country so I am so glad that my husband and all the others enlisted are willing to fight for our freedom.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

So today I will be thankful that he will be home next month for the entire month!

  3. Kenz~ I couuld only imagine how hard it must be to say goodbye and see him come and go and come and go and then go again. He is so brave and its great that you show your love and support, even when you want to hold him and keep him home. Keep the crafts going and keep busy with crafts too. You can email me any ol' time you want. Hang in there mama! Thanks for your sweet comment earlier too. Hugs, Jenn

  5. Hey there, I've been a follower for a while now and I also am a Military wife. (Army) My hubby's been in going on 21 years now and is currently deployed to Afghanistan. We're going on 15 mos. now. (He's stationed in Italy for 2 years) My daughter and I stayed in the states due to medical reasons.

It's hard but it'll get easier, I promise. I still have bad days every now and then.

Have your husband get a vonage phone with a local number to your location!! It's been a lifesaver. I'm so thankful technology is what it is these days. We even text all the time=))

    Thinking about you=)

  10. The sacrifices of our men and women in the armed forces, as well as their spouses, are remarkable. They don't just talk about their love for our great country, they show it (and that means you too, Kenzie). I can only imagine how challenging it is at times. His service is so appreciated, as if yours. Feel free to post about this anytime you need a hug! And thank you both.

  11. Hey there, I to just started following you blog and I have been a military wife (navy) also for 20 years. It has been hard, I never had family around, but depended alot on our local church family. We have been blessed. Just wanted to reiterate what the lady said above about the vonage acct. Awesome! When my hubby first got in it was snail mail only and after 2 years they finally started putting internet on the ships. Technology has come along way!! Let your hubby know his service is appreciated!

  12. I am so grateful to those Americans who are brave enough to defend and protect all that we take for granted. Thank God for people like Ben and for the families that sacrifice so much. It IS getting harder to pretend like he won't be deployed now that it's getting closer!! I'm so proud of both of you and love you so much!
