Sorry I'm Not Sorry

Months ago my Sister blogged a post titled "Sorry I'm Not Sorry."  I have been meaning to copy her for a long time and I have finally gotten around to it.

I know I have been MIA for the past couple of months.  My life has been a roller coaster and I have been kind of a disaster.  I have been angry, sad, happy, distant, loving and cold.  There have been many comments made most of which hurt my feelings, but today I'm Sorry I'm Not Sorry.
  • I want to be by myself, I don't want company.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • My kids are the most important things in my life, no one else.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I enjoy time to myself, like all by myself, no phone, no email, no texting, no talking to anyone.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I can't relax if my kitchen counters are dirty.  Learn to deal with it.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I cry.  A lot.  And sometimes it is for no reason.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I finally like love makeup, cute clothes and jewelry.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I put on makeup, fix my hair, and dress cute for myself, no one else.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I love my family and I love spending time with them.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I would rather have tea parties than go to the movies.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • I curse like a sailor, I can drink with the boys and on occasion I will take some of your Copenhagen.  Sorry I'm not sorry.
  • Love me or hate me, I don't care.  Sorry I'm not sorry.

This next year is going to be a huge challenge.  I know this, there is no denying it.  But I plan to "own" who I am this year.  Love it or hate it, I am me, I won't let anyone make me feel guilty for feeling the way I do.  So you know what?  I'm sorry I'm not sorry.

  2. Love this!!! (I might have posted this... but I needed the reminder!)

I think too often we try to change who we are to who we "think" we should be.

You are an amazing sister, friend, wife, mother, and person. I know you put 100% of your heart into everything and everyone.

    Love you Sister!!!

  3. You rock! I felt like I was reading something that I wrote myself. I feel the same exact way that you do sometimes. What's that saying "Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" That's exactly right! Those who can't handle you at your worst, don't deserve you at your best! Be who you are because you're a great person!
I learned a long time ago that if someone doesn't like me for who I am, then I don't need them in my life. It's as simple as that. I refuse to be someone I'm not just to fit in or to make someone else happy.

I only know you as a blogging sister but from the conversations we've had....I'd keep ya! ha! You're awesome!

  7. I am so glad to see you Sorry you aren't Sorry! We should appreciate ourselves for who we are instead of outwardly imposed criterion. I have been slowly blogging an anti coulda shoulda post and yours struck a cord. You are beautiful the way you are and I enjoy every post regardless of their frequency.

  8. THis post made me smile!!
I think my post today was a good follow up to this!!
Just be your self sweet Kenzie. We all love you just how you are!! When my girls we little (7,4, and twin babies)
For almost a year we had only one car in a n effort to cut expenses Hubby worked out of town. He would leave sunday night with that car and not come home until Friday night. I know it isn't quite the same but I do know how hard it is to do the Single parent thing with little ones. Hang in there and feel free to vent anytime. I am sure I can relate : ))

  10. One should never have to be sorry for being who they are. We are beings with beautiful qualities and characteristics that make us unique and special... yes, with flaws and all. Continue being who you are and allow us all to celebrate in who YOU are through your blog when you can!

  11. I think most (all?) women lose themselves at some point in their lives. We forget that we ourselves are important. We think that if we say no we're a big b****. We think that others must always come first. If we don't take care of ourselves we can't possibly be the wife, mother, friend, human that we need to be. Keep reminding yourself that you're not sorry!
