I Got A Job!

I got a job!!!  Well technically I already have a job, so I got  new job!  I was just hired to make place cards for a wedding!  I am so excited, I have 180 cards to make by the 20th.  The good news is that I have already cut 200 place cards (just in case of accidentals) and embossed 200 place cards.

Did you know that I can emboss approximately 4 cards per minute with my Cuttlebug?  Well neither did I until tonight, yes that means that it took me 50 minutes to emboss.  Not only is my arm tired from cranking the dumb handle but I have a blister on my thumb because of the way I was holding the dumb handle.

Anyway, I am really excited about this whole venture and I owe it all to my mom!  Back in February when I was making my Valentine's Day Cards, I texted my mom a picture of the cards not that I still need my Mom's approval, wait a minute, yes I do, she is my crafting voice of reason.  Anyway, she was showing some of the girls that she works with what I had been doing and my new friend Jen liked the cards enough to have me make the place cards for her wedding!!!  Thanks Mom!!!  And they are so cute, her colors are black, ivory, silver and purple.  So we are doing a black embossed card stock with an ivory name tag and black ribbon and then adding crystals randomly for a little sparkle.  Now all I have left to do, is cut 200 tents, yes I have to make the tents separately because the stupid embossing folder opens the wrong way so you can't emboss and tent at the same time, so annoying.  Cut 200 name tags, thank goodness for my cricket, print 180 names cut and attach to the tags, add ribbon and name tags and a bazillion gems to the place cards and I will be done.

OK in my head I was thinking I didn't have that much left to do and after writing it down I am kind of freaking out!  We are going out of town this weekend for a date night/watching Sister run her 1st half marathon/family lunch and who knows what else kind of weekend.  I have a lot of work ahead of me next week!

Goodness girl, just reading that I was feeling tired. Lots to do, I'm sure you'll be able to get it done though. I can't wait to see them! Thank you so much for the comment today also.

Can't wait to see your creations! I always show off the things you make because I am so impressed by your creativity and you are, after all, still my little girl, lol--I just don't hang your art on my refrigerator anymore. Oh wait a minute, yes I do--your magnets are on my fridge! In some ways creating is our link to the important women in our lives--Your Great, Great Grandma Rossie crocheted beautiful things and your Great Grandma Lola followed in her footsteps and left all of us some of her wonderful creations. Grandma Alice can do anything and everything from decorating amazing cakes to sewing heirloom-quality garments. How lucky are we to have such amazing role models!
