One of my favorite parts about blogging is seeing everyone's crafty projects and reading about their every day lives. I have been known to craft-lift projects on occasion. But when I do borrow someone's idea, I make sure I add their name, the link back to their project and email or comment and let them know I am linking to their project in my post.
I don't mind if you borrow my ideas but I would really appreciate it if you would let me know. One of my biggest blogging pet peeves is seeing my project on someones blog with no recognition. Or I found this project here, and the "here" is the link back to my post. Come on!!! If you can take the time to make what I made and blog about it, you can take 1 minute and let me know you are linking back to my post! For crying out loud you had to come to my blog to get the url of my post!
Thanks for letting me vent! Please use my ideas if you like them but give credit where it is due if you blog about them, it's only nice!

eek! I dont blame you for being upset...If I were you I would email the person about it. Hopefully it was done unintentionally.
Sweet dreams!

Gads!! I hope it wasn't me. I always link name and URL (occasionally, I see an idea and don't record where I found it and then I can't but then I confess and let people know if they know who I found the idea at to tell me).
I try to remember to notify the person who inspired me too but sometimes I do forget!!
Man all this confessing makes me feel like a complete loser!!
Seriously! I thought that was common decency :)
Ok Kenz~ spill... I want to know who did this? email me! ;) Hugs, jenn
and DIDO I couldn't agree with you more. I mean we are the ones creating something taking the time to take the pics., upload them, and then share our tutorial and share our idea.. that is so annoying, I am sorry. ;)
Oh' one more thing... I would LOVE LOVE love it if you added my party button to your other parties... SMILES WINK WINK!
That's happened to me with another blog, so I hear you! It kinda takes away the fun of blogging...although it wasn't me stealing your ideas in this particular case, I definitely may steal the label you used on this post "umm, seriously" is priceless!
Hey Kenzie! I love how your pom poms are coming along! I'm sure it's going to be one cute party! I know what you mean about the idea stealing (I call it CASE-ing Copy And Share Everything). Were you the one who made those 9 wooden blocks w/ pictures on them perchance? I know I made them awhile ago, and posted pics, but also said I couldn't remember where I had seen it (and asked the originator to step forward, but she didn't)! So alas...it is still a mystery. My trouble is: I read hundreds of blogs - I see an idea and file it away in my head. Months later I need an idea and rummage around in my brain where I vaguely remember seeing something that would fit the bill! So I try to re-create it to the best of my ability, but do you think I remember where I saw it originally? No chance! Somewhere in the hundreds of blogs I read it is there lurking... I don't want to sound unfeeling (and I'm speaking as one who has been copied w/o credit here), but we must give people a little bit of a break - it's really hard to remember where you see things! Chances are too, since there's nothing new under the sun, when we think we have created something "new" and brilliant, probably somebody came up w/ that same idea ages ago, so really the lifters COULD have seen it elsewhere (or come up with it -so they thought- on their own) Now in the case of them linking back to your blog-you're right, no excuse! I just try to remember that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :-)
Hey Kenzie :) I know that is frustrating and I try to make sure I keep tabs on where I got ideas. I have to admit that sometimes I forget to get the actual blog name and I think we have all done that. There is nothing wrong with venting girl :) We've all been there. Have a great day!!
I totally agree, Kenzie. It's poor blogging etiquette to snatch a photo or idea from another blogger and neglect to give proper credit. I always link to the name or blog title to which I am referring. People who read hundreds of blogs should bookmark or organize their favorite links if they plan on using an idea later on.
Well said! I couldn't agree with your more. I try hard to make sure to give credit where credit is due - even if I alter the project a bit - I make sure that folks understand that it wasn't my original idea. I just wish everyone had the same courtesty/common sense.
